If you're a snow and landscape company and are looking to take your business to the next level in 2024, check out today's episode to hear the top nine reasons to join me at the Landscaper Summit, a full day virtual conference on Thursday, October 26th.
Hey, everyone, Jack Jostes is here and welcome to the Landscapers Guide Podcast where we share sales, marketing, and leadership inspiration to help you grow your snow and landscape company. I'm excited to announce that early bird tickets are on sale and they end today, depending on when you're listening to this for the fourth annual Landscaper Summit, the Landscaper Summit may be a fit for you and your team or not. Check out these nine reasons to see if it's worth it to invest in yourself at this show.
0:53: Reason #1: If Employees Come To You With Problems You Wish They’d Solve
Well, the first thing is that if you have employees coming to you with problems that you think they should learn to solve on their own, that you're hoping to grow to that next level where you have managers or even leaders, it's essential that you are no longer the firefighter and chief problem solver of the company.
1:11: Preview of Megan Parker’s Summit Presentation
And in Megan Parker's presentation of Don't Take the Monkey, Lighten Your Load as the Leader. She's going to share a coaching exercise that you can use, including an actual worksheet that she's used with her clients at McFarlin Stanford to teach their landscape company owners to become managers and leaders. I'm personally excited to hear this myself because I'm looking to grow my team and learn how to teach my managers how to become even better leaders. So you can't miss Megan's presentation.
1:41: Reason #2: If You Have Low Employee Recruiting Turnout and High Turnover
The second reason to come is if you have low turnout to actual job interviews or an overall poor response to your recruiting or high turnover, if you're losing employees that you wish would stay, you're going to want to see Dave Pacifico from Team Engine present, How to Increase Employee Retention with Communication. This is going to give you actionable, easy, simple, yet commonly overlooked communication best practices that you can use, including how to communicate with your bilingual staff using a really easy translation tool. So keeping your people is essential to growing your company, and Dave's presentation is going to help you do that.
2:24: Reason #3: If you’re Frustrated With Your Sales Process
The third reason to come is if you have frustration in your sales process, if you have a low close rate or you feel like your sales are overly drawn out, I'm going to share with you key things to place in your sales process in my presentation, and also the results of the 2023 Snow and Landscaper Sales Survey. So we have over 200 companies took it this year, so you'll see how you stack up against other companies in your industry broken out by revenue. So we have under $1 million, $1 million to $5 million, $5 million to $10 million, $10 million plus we break out close rates from residential to commercial and what marketing is working for companies in those various levels. So if you want to figure out how to increase your close rate and which marketing works best based on the stage of growth that you're in, you can't miss my opening keynote.
3:15: Reason #4: If You’re Bleeding Profit & Don’t Know Your Profit Margins
The fourth reason to come is if you feel like you're bleeding profit, if you're not hitting your profit margins or making the income that you want, but you're not really sure which numbers to focus on, obviously you're looking at your bottom line and it's not where it needs to be. Gage Roberts from Aspire Software, one of our technology partners at The Summit is going to present Know Your Numbers. He's going to present key numbers that you should be tracking regardless of whatever software you're using. He's going to make it very easy to focus on the key numbers to ultimately get your organization profitable.
3:59: Reason #5: If You’re Hungry for Pizza
The fifth reason to come is if you're hungry for pizza. Look, I grew up in the Chicago area and I've had all the different pizzas in Chicago and I've gone directly to New York City and I've had New York pizza and it's phenomenal. But when it comes to Chicago deep dish style pizza, there's only one. It's Lou Malnati's. You've got to get Lou Malnati's shipped to you. I'm going to ship you frozen Lou Malnati's pizzas directly from Chicago when you attend my pizza lunch. So if you're curious about what's it like to have me, Jack and my team at Ramblin Jackson manage your marketing, actually get it done for you, help you outline your sales process and attract Hell Yes leads through your website and help you with your wholesale process and marketing, join me for the optional pizza lunch where yes, I will be selling to you and in exchange, I will be sending you pizza. It's the only time in the show where we're going to be really offering anything. The rest of it is entirely educational.
So if you like pizza and you're curious about working with me and my team, come to the pizza lunch and I'll ship you some pizzas.
4:57: Reason #6: If You Want More Maintenance Clients
The sixth reason to attend the Landscaper Summit is if you're like most of the landscape company owners I'm talking to these days, you want more maintenance clients, you want more of your design clients to buy maintenance, you want more new maintenance clients, maintenance, maintenance, maintenance is the key to growing your business. And if that's you, you've got to come here directly from Kelly Slater. She's one of my clients from Pleasant Landscapes in South Carolina. She's going to be sharing how she broke 500 maintenance clients and keeps a 85% plus renewal rate while firing pain in the ass clients that are rude to her staff. She's got a tight ship and she's going to be sharing, What Works in the What's Working Now Competition where she'll be presenting for 15 minutes. And there are two other landscape leaders who are presenting and we're going to donate to their favorite nonprofit when they win.
5:53: Reason #7: If You Want to Work ON Your Business, Not IN It
The seventh reason to attend the Landscaper Summit is if you want to work on your business but not in it and you're feeling like you need more personal time from your business, you're feeling burnt out like you're not getting the reward of running a company, then you've got to come in hear Andrew Hardison, he's another one of my clients from Hardison Landscaping in North Carolina, and he's going to be sharing key things that he did with his personal time management and sales process that increased his close rate and ultimately afforded him more personal time to spend with his growing family. That's what it's all about. So if you want more time in your life and you want to figure out how to get it, come hear Andrew.
6:37: Reason #8: If You Want to Improve Employee Culture & Retention
The eighth reason to attend the Landscaper Summit is if you want to improve your employee culture and retention, but you want to hear an actual snow and landscape contractor, not some industry consultant, talk about it, then you've got to come hear Nick Klotz from EPM Grounds Professional Services share, What's Working to Keep his Employee Retention over 90%. He's presented at the Simon Symposium. He's presented at a lot of different places. He's been a guest on this show, and I can't wait to hear him talk about your most valuable asset.
7:10: Reason #9: If You Want to Get Inspired By Other Landscape Pros
Now, the ninth reason to attend the Landscaper Summit is to ultimately get inspired by real landscape professionals who are killing it. In business, you're either growing or dying. You're either getting inspired, pushing the envelope, expanding your business, or you're retracting and suffering, and you don't want to be stuck in the middle. So even if things are good, even if you're doing well, it's never time to get soft, to take it easy and coast, right? We always want to be getting stronger and better in our business, and the best way to do that is to invest in yourself, invest a day in yourself, getting inspired by real people in the industry.
7:52: Details on the 100% Money Back Guarantee for the Landscaper’s Summit
I guarantee that you're going to walk away with a full notebook of ideas, and at least one of them is going to be 10 times worth the value of not only paying for a ticket but the time. And if it's not, I personally will refund your ticket. I offer a money back guarantee like I always have, and no one out of over 200 people who have come to this event over the last three years has ever requested a refund from me. And that's because I take the quality of education for my Greenistry events very seriously. The bar is high, and we've raised the bar this year by bringing in partners from Team Engine, Aspire, McFarlin, Stanford, all of our clients who are speaking. We've got incredible gifts. So come, buy a ticket, and even if you can't attend the whole event, you can get the professionally edited replay, which is going to be delivered in the form of an easy to use online course.
8:51: If You Can't Attend the Landscaper’s Summit Live, Get Access to the Replay
So you can go through each presentation again, watch the video, listen to it on your smartphone, on a tablet, on a website, on your computer rather, and we're going to give it back to you, but you've got to show up live in order to get all the cool bonuses and giveaways and ultimately, the networking interaction. I can tell you that although this is a virtual experience, the chat is thriving. People are asking questions, the speakers are interacting. So show up, be ready to learn. I can't wait to see you there.
