If you run a landscaping company and you're looking for a fun game to play at your company barbecue or employee appreciation event, check out today's video to learn how to play the Stump Game. Now, there's a lot of different variations out there and in today's episode, I'm going to show you how you can win the version that we're going to be playing at my book launch party at the GIE Expo.
What's up everyone, Jack Jostes here. Welcome to the Landscapers Guide to Modern Sales and Marketing podcast. This show is all about helping you increase your profit, attract your 'hell yes' customers and have a great team. And today's video is all about playing a fun game with your team. Now, the game that we play is called Last Nail Standing. People have probably been playing some variation of this game for thousands of years, and I'm really excited because we're going to be playing it at my book launch party on Wednesday, October 20th, between 6:00 and 10:00 PM (EST) at the GIE Expo. Check that out at treeofgoodfortune.com. I just got the final proof of my book. It's looking good. We're going to order these. We're going to have them available at that party.
Last Nail Standing
So the way that we play Last Nail Standing is basically step one, you've got to gather materials and you're going to want a tree stump that's about waist high, or you could stack a couple of them, or you could prop one up on a barrel or other material that you have to prop it up. You're going to need a hammer and some nails. The second thing you need to do is give one nail per person and have them just tap it in a tad. So it's firmly in the wood, but not too far. And the third thing is you flip your hammer. So you throw it up in the air and flip it one time. And however you catch it, you then have to hit the nails. Now, the way we play Last Nail Standing is you hit other people's nail in. And then the goal is that you have the last nail standing. So it's super fun. If you've ever been to one of our events, it gets pretty rowdy.
Join Us In Louisville
Sometimes we have... We had a mezcal tasting at one of our events, at our book launch party at the GIE Expo we're actually going to have a bourbon tasting. So it's really fun. You can play it with your family. You can play it with your friends. You can absolutely do this at a company party. So anyways, that's the Stump Game. It's fun. It's easy. I'd love to play it with you. And I hope to see you at the book launch party for my new book, The Tree of Good Fortune, The Landscaper's Guide to Modern Sales and Marketing. This book has all kinds of tips, case studies. There are harvest stories with some of the clients that I've worked with over the years. And I can't wait to get this book in your hands, because if you run a lawn and landscape company, it could really help you attract more of the right customers, dial in your process, there's a ton of value and we're actually even producing a video book version of this.
